I agree. This topic needs to be further explored, and the public needs to be aware of the details of such a project. I've been speaking with one of our delegates who has worked on the Ontario policies towards this technology, and he believes that it is a great solution to some of our problems. However, the education is needed to ensure that people really understand what it consists of, as well as any implications it may have.

Interesting blog on the smart grids. I've read many people complaining about them because the power companies can not only throttle back their thermostats in summer (set the AC at 26C in the house) but they can also tell your house how much power it can get at certain times. Big brother-ish? I think education would be more of a help there.
